Tanu Weds Manu 2011 Movie(Madavan, Kangna Ranau)

Posted by Deepak 5:37 PM, under | No comments

Manoj 'Manu' Sharma (R. Madhavan) is a NRI Doctor living in London. He comes back to India on his parents request to find a bride to be and get married. The first in line to be met is Tanuja 'Tanu' Trivedi (Kangna Ranaut). At the meeting time, her parents claim that she is ill, and has taken tablets which have made her drowsy. While Manu talks to her, he finds out that she is asleep, thereby not listening to him at all. Upon seeing her, he falls in love with her, and says to his parents that he is willing to get married to her. While on a trip together, Tanu takes him away from their family members, and says that she had intentionally taken five tablets to fall asleep, therefore trying to get rejected by him. She tells him in a rather vulgar language that she loves someone else, and that she has his name tattooed on her breasts. She was also seen smoking. She demands that Manu rejects her. Manu considers the odds, and though he loves her, he asks his father to announce that he cannot marry her.

Weeks pass, and Manu sees different girls, but couldn't be able to forget Tanu. Of all the girls, he meets Ayushi (Prachi Desai), who has trouble using her left hand. Her brother is Raja (Jimmy Shergill), a small goon. When Raja asks him about his thoughts of getting married to his sister, Manu says that he does like Ayushi, but can't marry her because he loves someone else.

Though Manu decides to return to London, his friend Pappi (Deepak Dobriyal) tells him that their friend Jassi (Eijaz Khan) is getting married, and asks him to come to Punjab with him. Upon arriving, Manu finds out that Tanu is present there, and she is a friend of Payal (Swara Bhaskar), Jassi's bride-to-be.

Over the course of few days, he becomes close to Tanu, but their new friendship is shattered when Tanu's parents arrive, and Tanu thinks that Manu called them. Due to this, Manu decides to return back. However, Tanu realizes her errors, and asks him not to leave, as her lover is coming tomorrow, and she wants help in eloping and marrying him.

As it turns out, Tanu's lover is Raja. They are about to be married, but are not able to find a pen to sign the papers. Though Manu has one, he lies about not having it, and the marriage is postponed. Raja confesses that he doesn't want to be married this way, but no one in Tanu's family will accept him, that's why they are eloping. Manu talks to Tanu's father, and convinces him to accept Raja.

During Tanu's wedding preparations, Tanu sees Manu's wedding gift (A poster made up of her pictures Manu had taken on different occasions), but does not realize that he loves her. Raja is not able to buy Tanu a wedding dress due to time shortage, so he asks Manu to help him out. After Manu gets Tanu her dress, he confesses to Tanu that he did had a pen, but did not want her to be married, that is why he lied. At that precise moment, Raja appears, and takes Tanu with her. Now Tanu has mixed feelings, and after reaching home, when she confirms with Manu that he loves her, she decides to marry him, not Raja.

Raja, however, is not willing to call off the wedding, and says to Tanu's father that if the wedding does not take place, he will kill him. Manu still prepares for the wedding. By bribing the Inspector, the family of Tanu get Raja arrested. However, Raja arrives to the wedding place at the same time as Manu, and he threatens to kill him. Manu however refuses to be scared and proceeds with Tanu for the wedding. It is then when Raja realizes that Manu is the right choice for Tanu, and allows them to get married.

Guzaarish Hindi 2011 (Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai)

Posted by Deepak 8:53 PM, under | No comments

The story is set in Goa, home to one of the most accomplished magicians of the time - Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan). As fate would have had it, Ethan is severely injured when his former best friend Yaseer Siddiqui (Ash Chandler), who was also a magician betrays him by ruining one of his dangerous magic trick, causing him to become quadriplegic. Now a wheelchair-user, Ethan's willpower only gets stronger and stronger. He becomes the Radio Jockey of an FM Station called Radio Zindagi. His show spreads magic and hope and laughter through his irrepressible wit and humor to every listener and caller, making it difficult to imagine that this is a man who has been living with a spinal injury for the last fourteen years of his life. Sofia D'Souza (Aishwarya Rai) , is his elegant nurse who has been accompanying him like a shadow for the past twelve years, leaving her domineering husband. Ethan's life centers on Sofia and they share a silent tacit love which is both beautiful and spirited.

However, on the fourteenth anniversary of his accident, Ethan decides to take matters into his own hands and files an appeal to the court for euthanasia (mercy killing). This leaves Sofia in an impasse that challenges their relationship and their love. Ethan takes the help of his best friend and lawyer Devyani Dutta (Shernaz Patel) to support his appeal. Devyani , initially hesitates but later, understands Ethan's appeal and agrees to his reasoning and decides to support him in his cause, as a result of which she is sensed as being callous by others. Surprising everyone with her stance, Ethan's mother Isabel Mascarenhas (Nafisa Ali) also supports him in his petition, backing her son's demand. Though Ethan is consistently persuaded by his physician Dr. Nayak (Suhel Seth), a neurologist, to retract his case, he finally relents to Ethan's appeal when he realizes that the friend in him is much stronger than the medic.

Alongside all the confusions, a young man named Omar Siddiqui (Aditya Roy Kapoor) enters Ethan's life with the sole aim of learning magic from this man whom he considers to be the greatest of magicians. Omar is earnest and driven by a passion to learn magic, hyperkinetic, quicksilver in his actions - an antithesis to Ethan's inertness. Impressed by his love for magic, Ethan agrees to pass on his legacy to Omar even as he fights tooth and nail to demand the most basic right to his own life. The ethics, the morality, the cruelty and the kindness of Ethan's mission causes everyone to be struck by a whirlwind of emotions scaling from rage to sorrow.

Judge Rajhansmoni (Vijay Crishna) dismisses the case immediately when the case is presented in the court. Devyani asks Ethan to garner public support through a vote on the issue through his radio programme , which Ethan christens "Project Ethanasia" . The scenario takes an unexpected turn when though many of his audience vote against his decision, Estella Francis (Monikangana Dutta) his former assistant and girlfriend and now a wife and a mother with work of her own, becomes the first person to vote in favour of Ethan as she understands his situation.

The issue comes into the limelight through news features in the television media and other public discussions. An appeal is once again submitted to the court and court proceedings start regarding the mercy killing petition by Ethan, which involves interrogation of Ethan's mother Isabel and close friends. The days become harder for Ethan as his mother passes away and Sofia is dragged away by her alcoholic husband, Neville D'Souza (Makarand Deshpande) against whom she had filed a divorce case. It is also revealed that Omar is the son of Yaseer.

Finally the day of verdict comes and Ethan's plea is rejected by the court, citing the legal code of the country cannot be violated in any circumstance. A disheartened Ethan spends his time alone in his empty home when Sofia returns. She confesses to Ethan that she got the divorce and tells him that she will help with his mercy-killing, whatever the consequences be as Ethan means more to her. Ethan and Sofia accept that they really love each other dearly and Ethan proposes Sofia, to which she agrees.

Ethan throws a party to their friends and guests, where Ethan speaks about everyone who has meant very dear to him and finally tells everyone about him and Sofia. Everyone is surprised and overjoyed as they knew of their love. Ethan asks Sofia to walk to him as his wife, not a servant. Sofia, heartbroken, walks to him and kisses him, for the last time. Ethan says that he will be dying a happy man with no regrets. At these words, all the guests, come to his couch and hug him, and the shot closes on Ethan laughing heartily.

KITES Movie 2011 (Hrithik Roshan,Barbara Mori)

Posted by Deepak 8:48 PM, under | No comments

J (Hrithik Roshan), is a dance teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a sideline, he marries immigrant women to get them green cards. When Gina (Kangana Ranaut), the rich daughter of a powerful casino owner Bob (Kabir Bedi), falls for him, J goes along in order to marry into money. He discovers that his future brother-in-law, the vicious, homicidal Tony (Nick Brown), is about to marry a Mexican woman named Natasha (Barbara Mori), whom J knows as Linda, the last of the immigrant women he married. On the night before "Natasha" and Tony's wedding, Linda and J spend a romantic but chaste night, humorously agreeing to a "divorce." A jealous, gun-wielding Tony, however, arrives at her apartment while J is there, and after he hits her, Linda impulsively knocks him out with a heavy object while he tussles with J. Linda and J go on the run toward Mexico, with Tony and police in pursuit. They are helped by a hotel clerk, Robin. Robin gives them fake passports and IDs so that they can go wherever they want. In the following week, J and Linda get married in Mexico, and on the day of their wedding they come back to their house. There, Robin comes to give them the passports and is unexpectedly shot by Tony and his men. Linda and J escape, but J is shot in the process. In a car chase, Linda stops the car at a train, and puts J aboard it, and drives off. Back to the present, J meets with Jamaal, one of Bob's employees, and is ambushed. Jamaal is killed, but not before telling J of Linda's whereabouts. J kills off all of Tony's men, and then beat's Tony by smashing his face into the car door, until he is shot by Gina. He drives off to the location where Jamaal said Linda was last seen. It is shown that after J was put aboard the train, Linda was ambushed on a cliff and sent J the text message saying "I'm going...Sorry, Forget me". She drives off of the cliff, killing herself by drowning. J cries, and then smiles, jumping off the cliff as well. Finally, he is reunited with Linda under the ocean, and they embrace through death.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN BOMBAY BOLLYWOOD MOVIE 2010

Posted by Deepak 8:44 PM, under | No comments

The film opens with a suicide attempt by DCP Agnel Wilson (Randeep Hooda) on the pretext of the Mumbai Blasts in 1993. When questioned, he breaks down claiming the recent events as his fault, citing that 18 years ago when he was posted as the ACP in the Mumbai crime branch, his inability to take the required action led to the rise of Shoaib Khan (Emraan Hashmi), who played a key role in these blasts. He then goes on to narrate the time in Mumbai during the 1970s, when it was ruled by smuggler Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgan), his downfall and the consequent rise of Shoaib to power.

After being hit by a flood in his hometown in Madras, Mirza arrives in Mumbai, where he starts working as a coal shoveler who smuggles gold items. Despite having a meager earning, he never fails to help the poor and needy and earns their support and respect. Gradually, he becomes the kingpin of smuggling world in Mumbai. He successfully divides the area among four gangsters peacefully, thus pinning the police in the deck and becoming the leader of Mumbai's underworld activities. Despite being a criminal, Mirza is shown to be a godfather like figure to the people and a man of principles. He is against smuggling contraband as it is against his Muslim faith.

Mirza has a crush on Bollywood actress Rehana (Kangna Ranaut) and eventually the two begin to date each other, and Sultan invests black money in her upcoming films. ACP Wilson moves to stop Rehana's films funded by Sultan. But he is tricked by Sultan and Rehana and gets framed for accepting bribe, damaging his credibility.

Meanwhile Shoaib is a very ambitious person with a very dark and daring character right from his childhood. His father, a sub-inspector in Mumbai Police, tries very hard to control him unsuccessfully. He grows up to become a notorious gangster, being frequently involved in petty robberies. Worried, Shoaib's father turns to Sultan for help to which he agrees and helps him set up an electronics shop. But Shoaib is unsatisfied, as his only ambition now is to become rich and powerful like Mirza. Shoaib's girlfriend Mumtaz (Prachi Desai) works in a local jewellery shop, which Shoaib visits often and gives her stolen jewelry. One day when a customer recognizes her necklace on Mumtaz, she decides to confront him. This enrages Shoaib who beats up the owner of the necklace and destroys his shop. He goes to Sultan to be a part of his crime ring. Seeing his potential, Sultan agrees to take him under his wing. Shoaib learns the tricks of the trade and soon becomes Sultan's trusted aide. ACP Wilson considers Shoaib's ideas and dark ambitions for quick money and power in a potential conflict to Sultan's ideals and hence foresees Shoaib causing the eventual downfall of Sultan. He even refrains from killing Sultan and Shoaib at one point. Finally when Shoaib becomes invincible, he blames himself for the catastrophe.

Meanwhile, Sultan decides to enter politics and goes to Delhi to meet the Home Minister of India, handing over his power to Shoaib. The money, unlimited power and Shoiab's unscrupulous ambitions lead him to carry out trades and acts which Sultan himself strongly condemns. He starts manufacturing illicit liquor, accepts contract killings, starts investing in drug peddling and runs extortion rackets. Finally when Sultan returns to Mumbai and finds out about Shoaib's misdeeds, he goes to meet Shoaib and slaps him for his unethical activities. This infuriates Shoaib and he plots revenge. One day while campaigning for his new party, as Sultan addresses the people on the dais, Shoaib shoots Sultan fatally, thus ending the saga of a smuggler who was loved by his people.

Agnel, who was narrating the story, admits later that Shoaib has established an empire and operates from other countries as the kingpin of Mumbai. No government or force can reach or harm him.

RAAJNEETI MOVIE 2011

Posted by Deepak 8:27 PM, under | No comments

The film begins with a flashback into the life of Bharti Rai (Nikhila Trikha), the daughter of Chief Minister Ramnath Rai (Darshan Jariwala). Influenced by leftist ideology, she rebels against her father and joins the rival party of leftist leader Bhaskar Sanyal (Naseeruddin Shah). Bharti develops an illicit relationship with Bhaskar, who, guilt-ridden over taking advantage of the younger woman, leaves for parts unknown, having unwittingly gotten Bharti pregnant. Upon the child's birth, he is abandoned in a boat by Brij Gopal (Nana Patekar), Bharti's brother. Bharti later marries Chandra Pratap (Chetan Pandit), the younger brother of Bhanu Pratap (Khan Jahangir Khan). Bhanu leads the Rashtrawadi political party. The government in the state collapses and Bhanu suffers a stroke. In the hospital, he hands over power to his brother Chandra and to Chandra's son, Prithviraj Pratap (Arjun Rampal) — sidelining his own son, Veerendra Pratap (Manoj Bajpai). Veerendra, who believes power is his birthright, demands his uncle's position, and after being rebuffed, enlists support from a Dalit leader, Sooraj Kumar (Ajay Devgan) — who, unknown to both, is Bharti's abandoned son.

Veerendra with the help of Sooraj, has Chandra assassinated in his car, while he is returning from the airport after seeing off his younger son, Samar Pratap (Ranbir Kapoor). In an ensuing drama, Prithvi is arrested by police under the influence of Veerendra and put on trial for a case of raping a woman party worker (Shruti Seth). Samar comes to the rescue and promises that if all charges upon his brother are dropped, his brother will resign and that he is ready to move with his family to the U.S.. Veerendra agrees but the newly released Prithvi begins rallying public support despite his resignation from the party. After Bhanu officially expels Prithvi, the latter splits from the Rashtrawadi party and contests elections under "Jana Shakti party", a new party with Gopal as his mentor and Samar as the executive. Meanwhile Samar's American girlfriend Sarah (Sarah Thompson) arrives in India to see the situation. To raise funds for the new party, Samar shrewdly ensures Prithvi's marriage to their childhood friend Indu (Katrina Kaif), the daughter of a powerful businessman. Indu had always loved Samar, however, Samar only thought of Indu as a friend and loved Sarah.

The film gets murkier with both sides trying every trick to ensure their victory in coming elections. Allegations and counter-allegations are made. Subsequently, Samar uncovers that the real murderer of his father is Sooraj and Veerendra, and decides to take revenge. On the other hand, Prithvi executes the former police officer, who had arrested him and the woman worker at a farmhouse. This infuriates Veerendra and he hatches a plot to assassinate Prithvi. Amidst of all the events, Indu realizes her love for Prithvi and Prithvi accepts her love in return. Also, Sarah is revealed to be pregnant with Samar's child and Samar promises Sarah that he will go to America with her and leave politics. A car bomb is planted in Prithvi's car which kills both Prithvi and Sarah, who was to be dropped at the airport in that car. Devastated by the loss of his brother and girlfriend, Samar decides to retaliate. He suggests Indu to take the reins of the party and arranges the election campaign single-handedly.

Meanwhile, Sooraj is revealed to be the first child of Bharti, who implores him to join his younger brother Samar. Sooraj refuses to part ways with Veerendra and asks his mother to leave. Exit polls predict a victory for Indu's Party and on the counting day, Samar lures Veerendra and Sooraj to an unused factory by spreading a rumor about electronic voting machine being hacked. Veerendra and Sooraj fall in the trap and Veerendra gets shot by Samar and his men. Sooraj requests Samar to leave him and Veerendra till they reach the hospital, but Veerendra dies on the way. Gopal prompts Samar to shoot Sooraj who questions the morality of the act. But Gopal convinces him to take the revenge. Samar shoots Sooraj and takes the revenge for the destruction of his family.

Later the election results are declared, and Indu emerges with majority and is made Chief Minister. Samar is seen asking forgiveness and is seen attempting reconciliation with Indu. Explaining his decision to return to America, he reflects that he always wanted to stay away from politics as politics is a game that brings out the "inner devil" . Indu is also revealed to be pregnant with Prithvi's child, while Samar leaves India to look after Sarah's mother and settle there.

Tanu Weds Manu Hindi movie

Posted by Deepak 8:30 PM, under | No comments

Genre: Comedy, Romance
Director: Anand Rai
Producer: Shailesh Singh, Vinod Bachchan
Banner: Paramhans Creations, Soundarya Productions
Music Director: Krsna
Lyricist: Raj Shekhar
Star Cast: R. Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill, Ravi Kishan, Eijaz Khan, Rajendra Gupta, K. K. Raina
Release Date: February 25, 2011

Tanu Weds ManuAccept it or not, we Indians are overtly amused just by the ‘concept’ of marriage, leave alone the actual marriage ceremony. Everything that is related to wedding, right from expensive jewelry and over-the-top apparels to loud song-n-dance sequence and scrumptious food, gives us an adrenaline rush that none can match. And imagine watching the same on the 70mm big screen — an ecstasy which cannot be explained in words. Capitalizing on this, director Anand L Rai brings forth his next work of art, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. And what do you think is the fate of his latest creation? Well, just as expected, it does well. After all, don’t we love to see everything related to wedding? Yes, just accept it, we have been classically conditioned to love weddings since childhood.
Interestingly, what works for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is the same that doesn’t work for it - its familiarity - the ‘been there, done that’ feel. On the lines of ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ too has a sacrificial lover (only in this case he is an NRI but a true Indian by heart, mind it) and a boisterous and bustling female protagonist (a wannabe, if you may say so), who drinks, smokes, uses expletives, is clear-cut and absolutely fearless. But what is different for the film is its treatment — the atmospherics of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is sure to captivate you by leaps and bounds. The movie has the right dose of romance, drama and comedy. Now, you may ask what goes wrong then. It is its on-and-off mode - some scenes are downright hilarious and extremely good, but there are others that are absolutely drag.
It is very difficult to come out with a new theme when it comes to portraying the big fat Punjabi wedding — you would always get the feel of seeing it already. Also, the portrayal of a confused girl is not new — we have seen similar plot in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Pardes’ and ‘Jab We Met’. But just as we mentioned earlier, that same plot works for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, thanks to the intricately handled and woven drama and comedy. The cinematography of the movie is exemplary; the pictorial galore and the dazzling canvas of which keeps the momentum going. Even the cityscapes have been shot really well for the movie. The soundtrack of the movie is also to be applauded for, what with Sadi Galli and Jugni becoming chartbusters.
Kudos for the acting department too, for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ would not have been what it is had it not been for the talented actors! First things first, Kangana Ranaut is exceptional. From her clichéd roles (mentally unstable characters, no offense meant please!) to the portrayal of audacious and zesty Tanu, she has definitely outshined. She is lovable and adorable. As for Madhavan, he has essayed his role with neat perfection and élan. Jimmy Shergill is a surprise package and astonishes us positively. There is a spark in him that gives his role the justice. Rajendra Gupta, K K Raina, Navni Parihaar, Deepti Mishra, Eijaz Khan and Swara Bhaskar are effective and add to the script.
Last Call: If you have nothing to do this weekend and are game for some light fun and romance, go for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. You sure won’t be disappointed!

Tanu Weds Manu Pre-release Review
Tanu Weds ManuDo not be surprised if you see the posters of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ revealing the main leads as R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut! This peculiar yet delightful love story features two unusual actors paired together for the very first time. Known only for portraying serious and challenging roles (those of a psychopath), Kangana begins this year on a comic note, while Madhavan, who’s already a star with his hilarious ‘3 Idiots’, tries to add another star on his shoulder. Directed by Anand Rai, the movie is produced by Shailesh Singh and Vinod Bachchan, under the banners Paramhans Creations and Soundarya Productions. The peppy and shaadi songs are composed by Krsna and Raj Shekhar. ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is scheduled to release on 25th February, 2011.
‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is a seedhi saadhi love story that travels through tedhe medhe roads to transform into a blissful marital knot at the end. Manoj Sharma aka Manu (R. Madhavan) is a sweet and shy NRI doctor from London looking for a simple and homely wife. He is intelligent, caring, and belongs to a respectable family. He’s the guy that every family would love to take back home as their dutiful and loyal damaad. But destiny has different plans for him. This comes true when he is pressurized to meet the beautiful, but carefree and extrovert Tanuja Trivedi aka Tanu (Kangana Ranaut) in Kanpur as one of his prospective brides. Tanu, on the other hand, is a small town wild girl who lives by her own rules, hates arrange marriages, and will do anything and everything to marry a guy her parents will disapprove of.
How the two opposites handle each other and whether any chemistry clicks off between the two forms the crux of the story. What happens when two totally diverse personalities cross each other at various occasions? Will the two weave a love story and prove that ‘Marriages are made in heaven’? A new completely genre for Kangana, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ would show a new side of the actor that we haven’t seen before. Also, chemistry between the two most unlikely of stars is a thing to watch out for in the movie. Sit back and enjoy a light and charming marriage as ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ hits theaters on 25th February, 2011.

Patiala House Bollywood Movie 2011

Patiala House Movie Review: Akshay Kumar’s latest movie Patiala House is out in theatres. After a series of Flaps like Action Replayy, Tees Maar Khan, Blue and Khatta Meetha, Akshay is back with Patiala House directed by Nikhil Advani, who earlier made Chandnichowk to China with the actor.

For a change, Akshay Kumar attempts a family drama with Patiala House. He looked sincere and up to the task as the lead man in this movie. Akshay’s performance as a man (Gattu) who is caught between father and goal of his life is brilliant on any scale. He was aptly supported by Rishi Kapoor (Bauji) and Anushka Sharma (Simran) who played the other key roles.

Understandably Patiala House movie didn’t raise many expectations due to Akshay’s recent track record. We in our review strongly recommend this film for its honest content and sincere efforts. There is an underlying message in this film that life gives second chance to everyone and we should never lose heart.

Despite not having craze and expectations, Patiala House should do well at the box office with the positive word of mouth in its favor. However, it will have to sustain the heat of World cup cricket and also other hot releases that are lined up for release. But certainly, Patiala House is arguably the best film of Akshay Kumar in the last couple of years.
